About me
Hi, I'm Marta García González, illustrator and pattern designer.
All my life I have liked to paint, draw, model and experiment. Since I was very little, my birthday gifts have been drawing cases, clay, colored pencils, oil paints and a large list of materials of all kinds.
I am excited by the idea of giving abandoned objects a second life and creating something beautiful with them.
I studied Industrial Technical Engineering in Albacete (Spain), my hometown. After more than 4 years working as such, I realized that I did not feel fulfilled with the work I was doing and decided to turn my life around.
It was then that I materialized my dream and started in the exciting world of entrepreneurship. I began my training as a pattern designer with Bonnie Christine and her entire community of artists.
Surrounded by plants and with my little Indian tortoise by my side, I work every day in my small but charming studio located in Albacete. Passionate about photography, camera in hand, I love going out to look for inspiration in the small details that nature offers me.
Since I started in this exciting world of surface design, I have experimented with various techniques and materials (watercolor, gouache, graphite, watercolor pencils, crayons, digital design,...). And, although I will continue researching and trying new materials, without a doubt, my favorite will always be watercolor; the fluidity of the water, the organic shapes of the pigment on the paper, those beautiful cauliflowers that add texture to the prints, ... for me, it has no competition.
