Happy Sunday dear readers!

Today I am going to tell you a little secret…. I am a plant lover! 😍

I have approximately 14 pots of all types and sizes at home: a giant Kentia that is gradually taking over my living room, several pothos, a ball cactus (that's what I call it colloquially, its scientific name I don't know 😅 ), several succulents, an avocado, … and a lot more.

Today I come to tell you about my latest acquisition, my precious Maranta Leuconeura.

As I have been able to find out by researching here and there, it is a plant native to the forests of Brazil.

For me, coming from a humid climate is a drawback, I live in Albacete and the humidity here is conspicuous by its absence. For the plant to be happy and beautiful, I would have to spray it with water every day and, honestly, I forget...

It needs a lot of light but never direct. I have it in the living room next to a window through which a lot of light enters. Because of their orientation, they are never directly exposed to the sun's rays and it seems that they are happy in their new home.

One of the things I like most about the plant is the way the leaves move. Depending on the time of day they have one orientation or another. She is very curious.

As for my life as an artist, I love taking inspiration from plants. Observing them, seeing how they evolve, helps me in those moments of blockage.

Maranta Leuconeura has beautiful colors, she simply has a perfect color palette to use in any illustration.

And, what do you think of the drawing of its leaves?

They have a beautiful drawing, don't you think?

A few years ago I made an illustration of this plant, I leave it below for you to see. It has rained a lot since then!

In fact, I'm a little embarrassed to show it to you. It has many flaws: composition, depth, …

In her day I was super proud of her and, seeing the evolution, also encourages me to continue training and learning day by day. You have to enjoy the road!

And so far today's post, I hope you liked it and encouraged you to continue improving.

See you next Sunday,

Bye!!
