New favorites? My Derwent Drawing colored pencils
Happy week dear readers!
Do you remember the post where I talked about gifts for creative people? (I leave you the link in case you haven't seen yet).
This gift list included, among others, some colored pencils that have me dazzled.
Well, Santa were very attentive to my post and brought me the Derwent Drawing colored pencils 🤩
I was looking forward to telling you about my first impressions!

They are quite thick pencils, in the Derwent's official website says that they have an 8 mm outer diameter and a 5 mm lead.
What fascinates me most about them is the color palette, it is not the typical one of bright and saturated colors.
Its tones are inspired by nature. Earthy, soft and desaturated colors. Wonderful!
The only drawback I see is that all the boxes (no matter the number of pencils in the pack) black and white colors are included…. In my opinion, this makes the 6-color box lose all interest.
Since I have had them I have used them in practically all the designs I have made this year.

I leave you here some samples of quick drawings that I made using exclusively this color palette.
They are ideal both to use alone (as in the illustrations above) and to use them as complements in our watercolors. I love adding touches of color with pencils! They provide texture and interest, they help us direct the viewer's gaze to where we are most interested.
Another aspect to keep in mind is that they are very opaque, they paint perfectly on dark paper.
As for price and where to get them, in the post 6 IDEAS OF GIFTS FOR CREATIVE PEOPLE, provided you with two stores where you could get them.
Today I bring you two different ones😁.
The first is the Derwent's official page in Spain. Here you can get all sizes of colored boxes in addition to loose pencils.
The second is Artemiranda. You have available both the packs of 12 and 24 colors, as well as the loose pencils.
I hope you liked this little review.
Happy week! See you next time!
