NUEVOS TESOROS – AMPLIO MI COLECCIÓN DE ACUARELAS

This week's post comes a little late 🙏.
On this occasion I have recorded a video for Youtube, with everything that entails: recording, editing, dubbing, music, … a mess. Furthermore, I had to record it 3 times! I couldn't get the colors to look true to reality, and of course, in a video review of material... Well, it's a problem, don't you think? The video editor has also given me problems, I usually (or rather, used to) use Adobe Premiere Rush. I don't know if you know it, it is a free editor that is especially designed for social networks. In theory it is perfect, simple and intuitive, but there is in practice!!, I don't know if it will only happen to me,…. but I can't record the voice-over without distortions 😪.
I still haven't automated the process of recording videos for YouTube and, if I'm honest with you, it's hard for me 🫠 .
Let's get to what really matters.
A few weeks ago I placed an order to Craftelier and, among other things, I ordered these wonderful liquid watercolors. I really wanted to try them since I discovered them, a few years ago, in one of Ana Victoria Calderón's courses in Domestika. It took me a while but I finally have them in my possession!
Although they are not as expensive as the Schmincke or Daniel Smith, they are not super cheap either, now they cost around 8 euros with a discount.
At the bottom of the post you have the video I have been talking about.
In short, the colors I chose are:
A very intense and powerful pink color.
If I compare it with watercolor pigments (tubes or godets), it reminds me a lot of Opera Pink, although as seen in the final comparison of the video, Opera Pink is more transparent.
What I liked most about this color was the metallic effect it has when it dries. They remind me of Ferris Wheel Press calligraphy and illustration inks (although I can't talk much about it because I don't have any ink from this brand 😅).
I didn't like this color very much.
Personally, I am not very attracted to yellows, I tend to opt more for pastel yellows or ochres.
Furthermore, to get its full power, you have to use it directly from the bottle, as you mix it with water you have mixed it... the tone goes down a lot and it practically does not stain the paper.
A very cool color.
Although it is called tobacco brown, it reminds me of a mix between greenish yellow and olive green.
An earth tone full of nuances and, like all the colors of this brand, very vibrant.
My favorite in the world.
A beautiful greenish turquoise tone.
In the video I had problems capturing the color with the camera as I see it in person... I hope I achieved it with the attached photo 🙏🙏
I had never tried this type of watercolors and they surprised me for the better.
I feel like I have to learn to use them correctly because, being so powerful, it's easy to go overboard.
I only see one problem with them, and that is their portability when we go on a trip. The normal thing for me is to take a small palette with godets and, of course, I would have to carry these watercolors separately in a special case... I don't know, I think they are studio watercolors, I don't see myself on the beach painting with these jars at the same time. that can get sand in them or tip over easily. Aside from this tiny inconvenience, I fell in love with them. Now I only have one problem, and that is that I want the entire collection 😂😂😂
