They've finally arrived! Summer Creative Game Results

Hello again dear readers!

How are you getting back into your routine? I have procrastinated coming back to the blog a little bit 🤭. But I'm here with more desire than ever and, to prove it, today I bring you the RESULTS OF THE SUMMER GAME!!. 👏👏👏

I don't know if you remember that in July I shared with you a downloadable artistic game. I leave you the link in case you want to take a look.

Well, I managed to convince my family to play on our vacation together. It is important to comment that, although I love art, crafts and everything related to the creative world, my sisters, partner and brother-in-law…. They're not that into it 😅 Even so (I don't know if because I kept quiet or because they really felt like it) they participated in the experience.

We had a really fun afternoon, it was great to lift your head off the paper and see each other's creations.

Would you like to discuss them with me? Let's go there!

The Birth of Venus, Boticcelli

The requirements were:

  • Cross-stitch
  • Tree twigs
  • Toilet paper

What do you think of this version of the Birth of Venus?

Personally I like it a lot, I find it very original and I love the touch of the hair with gold thread.

The only fault I can give it is that the cross stitch has not been able to capture it correctly. The idea of using a mesh of the fruit as "sewing fabric" was very good, but it didn't work very well.

My score, a 7 out of 10.

Nacimiento de Venus
impression of the rising sun, monet

The requirements were:

  • comic
  • Algae
  • Coffee

Don't tell me that this drawing doesn't have strength and personality?

As a curiosity, the author titled it "Batman against pollution." Hence he used coffee as "pollution" and the green stain of the sea... as... discharge from a factory? 🤷‍♀️

It was very fun to see the author while he was making this drawing, with his face as if he were having a really bad time... bad? He started with watercolors, but it seems that they didn't convince him very much so he switched to acrylic paint, then he tried soft waxes and to finish he put it under the tap (I still don't really know why 😂😂😂)

Although all the elements are there, and the effort must be valued, I am not completely convinced by the green stain of the sea.

My score, 8 out of 10.

Batman contra la contaminación
las meninas, velazquez

The requirements were:

  • Cotton
  • Leaves
  • Collage

Without a doubt, this was the funniest of all.

The reinterpretation of Las Meninas taking clippings from a gossip magazine is full of funny winks. For example, have you realized that Velázquez is King Felipe VI with a mustache? Or, that the third girl is Jorge Javier? 😂😂😂

The only drawback I could make is that the leaves are poorly integrated into the composition. Also, it went over the 1 hour time limit (of course, we didn't care much about this because we were all eager to see the final result).

My score, a 7 out of 10.

las meninas
The Son of Man, Magritte

The requirements were:

  • Colored pencils
  • Pastel colors
  • Flowers

Well, what can I say about this drawing... There was a lot of conflict when it came to rating it, I'll explain.

The person who painted it doesn't have much idea about materials or colors, so he didn't know what pastel tones were. In addition, they advised him to use crayons instead of colored pencils to finish before coloring... So he did not meet the requirement of using colored pencils either.

Ignoring these details, I really like the drawing, it seems very appropriate to use the dried flowers to cover the individual's face as if it were the apple. The leaf as a tie also seems very original to me. 😊

My score, a 7 out of 10.

El Hijo del Hombre
girls in the sea, sorolla

The requirements were:

  • Kraft paper
  • Pinecone
  • Mosaic

Now that we have reached the end, I am going to present my creation to you.

I can't say much about it, I simply painted a sheet of recycled paper with acrylic paint and cut it out to form the mosaic in the sea. To simulate sand I used kraft paper.

For me, the most complicated thing was including the pinecones in the composition. After giving it a few spins, I decided to put them in my hair, simulating the locks of girls' hair.

What do you think?

I hope you liked this post.

If you dare to play with your friends or family, I would like to know your experiences. 😊😊

Until next time!
